Spain’s Alvaro Bautista continued his domination of the Thai World Superbikes weekend with a win at race two.
The world championship leader took all-out points from both races at Buriram, the Ducati rider on Sunday (17) leading home defending champion Jonathan Rea’s Kawasaki with another Briton, Alex Lowes on a Yamaha third.
Bautista raced into the prime from pole position and held it to the chequered flag, the only regret for his team is being when Chaz Davies rolled to a stop after mechanical issues.
Dutch rider Michael Van der Mark was fourth on a Yamaha, Briton Leon Haslam finished fifth on a Kawasaki and Italian Marco Melandri took sixth for Yamaha.
Bautista’s two weekend wins put him 26 points in front of Rea in the championship after four races.
