Don’t betray Sri Lanka in Geneva – MR

Referring to the recent announcement by the government in which they will be sponsoring yet another Resolution against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Opposition leader and former president Mahinda Rajapaksa warned the government not to betray Sri Lanka.

Looking at the recent activities by the current government and recent reports from the UNHRC, ives rise to the question whether Sri Lanka is any longer a sovereign nation said Mr. Rajapaksa.

Resolution 30/1 states to betray the armed forces and leaders to interested foreign parties and was co-sponsored by the Government at a time when they were expecting foreign aid claimed Mr. Rajapaksa.

The delegation representing the Government in Geneva should clearly understand that anything short of the information will effectively, be a betrayal of the people of Sri Lanka said the former president.
