ICC charges Lokuhettige for corruption

Former Sri Lankan Cricketer Dilhara Lokuhettige has been charged with three counts of breaking the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. Allotting a media release the ICC notes that the new charges are in addition to charges forced on him on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board last year.

Lokuhettige has been charged under the Article 2.1.1 which involves fixing, arranging or otherwise influencing improperly, or being a party to any agreement, Article 2.1.4 which involves directly or indirectly soliciting, persuading, enticing, instructing, influence, encouraging or intentionally facilitating any Participant to breach Code and Article 2.4.4 which involves failing to unveil to the ACU full details of any methods or invitations received by him to involve in corrupt conduct under the Code.

The ICC said that Lokuhettige has 14 days from 3 April 2019 to reply to the new charges.
