The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has recognized more than LKR 140 million in cash and other possessions worth over LKR 7 billion belonging to the terrorists tangled in the Easter Sunday attacks, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.
“Half of the money has been taken under CID guardianship and the remainder was found deposited in several bank accounts. The CID has taken measures to append those accounts.
73 suspects are still being interrogated by the CID and the Terrorist Investigation Department (TID). There are 54 suspects, including seven women, under CID custody, while 19 others, including two women, are under TID guardianship,” he said.
