Looting starts in Venezuela

Schools and businesses will be shut on Monday as per the order by the government due to power cuts being dragged to fifth day in the country. Reports suggest that at least 17 have been killed due to the blackouts and residents are growing desperate for solutions.

Pro-government gangs have been harassing residents. On Sunday it was reported many have opted to looting in the capital. Many parts of the country are blacked out and few areas are only receiving power for few hours.

Without internet, mobile phones, banks, credit-card machines, air-conditioning, ordinary life is excruciating for many people, especially in low income communities.

Foreign media reported that Venezuela is currently chaotically descending into darkness.
