Opposition MPs presented a motion of no-confidence against Minister Rishard Bathiudeen today (14). The motion of no-confidence states that the MPs do not trust that Rishard Bathiudeen can continue to task as a minister of the cabinet.
The no-confidence motion has been signed by 23 MPs containing Dullas Allahaperuma, Chamal Rajapaksa, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila, Dinesh Gunawardena and Athuraliye Rathana Thero.
MPs on behalf of the joint opposition said that they are due to meet at the office of the Opposition Leader at Wijerama to make a verdict on the motion.
The motion of no-confidence was due to be given over to the speaker today. However, the office of the speaker established that the motion of no confidence was not given to the speaker today.
