A proposal was made in parliament to debate the Wilpattu deforestation issue in the coming days. Concerns were also raised that communal issues were arise due to defrost ration.
The land which was cleared to resettle some families had been allocated by former Economic Affairs Minister Basil Rajapaksa in 2012 said house leader Lakshman Kiriella.
The Government have arranged to debate the issue in Parliament and will look to fix an early date for the debate said the minister.
At earlier event held during the day President Maithripala Sirisena said that since 2015 no land in Wilpattu has been handed over to any individual.
