SLC to conduct tests on players

President Shammi Silva said today (03) that Sri Lanka Cricket will conduct random breathalyzer tests on cricketers in the future.

The board has taken this verdict after national Test skipper Dimuth Karunaratne was tangled in an accident this Sunday under the effect of alcohol.

Accordingly, random tests will be directed during this week’s inter-provincial cricket event.

Shammi De Silva said that this kind of behaviors among cricket’s players cannot be tolerated and the board has taken the necessary steps to conduct tests randomly in the upcoming matches.
