The Pentagon has approved the transfer of USD 1 Billion to army engineers for new wall construction along the US-Mexico border.
Though democrats have protested against the move. The funds are the first under the national emergency affirmed by President Donald Trump to avoiding Congress and build the wall he guaranteed during his election campaign.
The funds will be used to build about 57 miles (91km) of required structures.
President Trump has called the situation at the southern border a “crisis” and claims a physical barrier is needed to stop criminals crossing into the country. Media accused the president that he has manufactured the border crisis.
Congress will now need a two-thirds majority in both chambers to outweigh him, which correspondents say is doubtful to happen.
